Right now I just want to read anything by Michael Connelly. I can get lost in Harry Bosch's world.

At the moment my favourite books are anything by Terry Pratchett.....but since I've just finished his latest book, Making Money, I had to read another book. I don't mind a biography every now and then so I chose to read "The Heroin Diaries: a year in the life of a shattered Rock Star" by Nikki Sixx with Ian Gittins. It's about Nikki Sixx, the bass guitarist from the band Motley Crue. He takes us through the painfully depressed and troublesome years when Motley Crue became famous in the mid-eighties. Going from drug addicted control freak to new beginning that took courage, determination and tear-filled hope to achieve. It definately shows that its not easy being a rock star, especially when music labels are out to make money off you without consideration for the band they are trying to promote around the world.

Don't know if you know of him in The States, but I just love anything by Australian author Bryce Courtenay. He writes lots about early Australian History, and also stories based in South Africa where he was born.

This wiki is a good idea for those always looking for book suggestions. Yet another way to be introduced to a novel and author that otherwise might have escaped our attention.

One of my favorite books is a Japanese Manga called "Nausicaa of the Valley of Wind" by Hayao Miyazaki. It is a fantasy set in a post apocalyptic era. The pacifistic princess Nausicaa must prevent two city states from destroying each other and the planet. It’s a great, easy read which focuses on themes of conservation, peace, and environmentalism.

One of my favorites is "Night" by Elie Wiesel.

One of my favorite books is Cold Mountain by Charles Frazier. It is a great fiction love story about the civil war. A movie has been made of the book. They are both really good if you like that time in history.

Lorrie Moore's first novel, Anagrams, has been one of my favorites for more than 20 years. Over the top wit and pathos, a strange combination. The ending is a stunner. I walked around for days with a lump in my throat, in wonder at the lengths humans go to to cope with loss, and at how grief can be, well, beautiful.

I don't have a favorite book -- its too hard to choose. I think I have favorite authors and find new ones all the time. I enjoy Alexander McCall Smith, Ngaio Marsh, James Herriot, Dick Francis to name just a few.

I just read the Mysterious Benedict Society trilogy. Those are great books for junior highers. Probably not my favorite books, but some of the best new reads I have had this year. I couldn't pick a favorite, but anything by Dorothy Sayers and George MacDonald are good.

The Shack was my favorite

My favourite books at the moment is the Steig Larson trilogy 'The girl with the dragon tattoo', 'The girl who played with fire' and 'The girl who kicked the hornet's nest'. I couldn't put them down and once I finished the first one I had to race out and get the next two. I've also seen the movie of 'The girl with the dragon tattoo' which I liked but I was glad I'd read the books first so it wasn't so confusing especially as it was all sub-titles. I recommend these books.

The next book that I am looking forward to reading is 'Oathbreaker - A Prince Among Killers' by S.R. Vaught and J. B. Redmond. Other than that I don't really have a favourite book so much as a favourite genre - Fantasy.

My favourite books are the" Outlander" series by Diana Gabaldon. Devoured the first four in the series one after the other and then had to be patient and wait for the next ones to be written. Have not long read no. seven and hope there will be another one on the way soon.
